maskihkiy learning lodge — terms of use
Last updated: October 13, 2026
1. About these terms
maskihkiy learning lodge is operated by maskihkiy wellness inc. (“maskihkiy,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). These Terms of Use govern your use of www.maskihkiylearninglodge.com and our online programs, teachings, resources, live gatherings, recordings, and community spaces (“Services”).
By creating an account, enrolling, or using the Services, you agree to these terms and our Privacy Policy, available on the learning lodge website. Before purchasing, please review the program description and any additional enrollment conditions. If you do not agree, do not enroll or use the Services.
Program-specific terms disclosed before purchase govern that program where they differ from these general terms. Nothing in these terms limits rights or remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded.
2. Eligibility and your account
You must be at least the age of majority in your province, territory, or country of residence to create an account or purchase a program.
Provide accurate registration and billing information, keep it current, and protect your login credentials. Accounts and individual enrollments are for one person and may not be shared or transferred without our written permission. An organization purchasing multiple places must arrange a separate enrollment for each learner.
Tell us promptly if you suspect unauthorized access. You are responsible for your own use of the Services and for keeping your account secure.
3. Learning, wellness, and professional responsibilities
The learning lodge provides education and opportunities for reflection, connection, and wellness. Enrollment does not create a therapist–client relationship or provide individualized assessment, diagnosis, treatment, clinical supervision, or emergency support.
You choose how to participate and may decline an activity, pause, or step away. You do not need to disclose personal experiences or health information. If a teaching brings up distress, consider reaching out to your own supports or an appropriate professional. In an emergency, contact emergency services or local crisis support.
Professionals remain responsible for their own judgment, competence, scope of practice, regulatory requirements, and informed consent when applying their learning. Participation does not authorize you to practise a regulated profession, teach our programs, conduct ceremony, or act as a cultural authority.
Certificates recognize the completion requirements stated for the relevant program. Unless expressly confirmed in writing, they do not establish accreditation, professional licensure, continuing education approval, or eligibility for a designation. Check acceptance requirements with your own employer or regulatory body.
4. Enrollment, access, and program delivery
The program description and checkout information specify what your purchase includes, the schedule, access period, completion requirements, and any payment conditions. Access is for the stated period and is not lifetime access unless expressly offered as such. Content may be released sequentially or require completion of earlier teachings.
Recordings are provided where advertised and where the teachings and protocols permit. Some activities, personal sharing, or ceremonies may not be recorded. Missing a gathering does not automatically extend access or create a right to a replacement session.
You are responsible for a suitable device, internet connection, and any software required to participate. Contact us about access or accommodation needs so we can discuss available options.
5. Fees and payment
Prices are in Canadian dollars unless otherwise stated. Applicable taxes and the total purchase price will be disclosed before payment. Future price changes do not change an already confirmed purchase.
For an installment plan, you agree to the full purchase price and payment schedule disclosed at checkout. Installments divide the purchase price; they are not a monthly subscription unless expressly described that way. Choosing not to participate or closing your account does not, by itself, cancel outstanding installments.
Any automatic renewal must be expressly disclosed before purchase, including its price, frequency, and cancellation method. A four-season bundle does not automatically renew unless you separately agree to renewal terms.
If a payment fails, we may contact you and suspend access until it is resolved. Contact us promptly if you believe a charge is incorrect.
6. Cancellations and refunds
Unless a different policy is disclosed before purchase, all sales are final. We do not offer refunds for a change of mind, missed gatherings, non-participation, or failure to complete a program.
This policy does not affect cancellation, refund, or other rights required by applicable law.
If we cancel a program before it begins, you may choose a full refund or an available transfer. If we permanently discontinue a substantial part of a paid program after it begins, we will offer a reasonable alternative or a proportionate refund for the undelivered portion. You are not required to accept a credit instead of a refund where a refund is due.
Send cancellation or refund requests to [email protected]. Separate events, retreats, or land-based experiences may have their own terms disclosed when you register.
7. Schedule changes and service interruptions
We may make reasonable changes to scheduling, instructors, or delivery where needed, including for illness, cultural responsibilities, technical issues, or circumstances beyond our reasonable control. We will communicate material changes as soon as reasonably possible and work to preserve the program’s substance and value.
Temporary interruptions may occur. Where an interruption materially affects paid access, we will consider appropriate remedies, such as rescheduling, extending access, or providing an alternative. The cancellation and refund provisions above continue to apply.
8. Respectful participation and community privacy
Treat participants, instructors, Elders, knowledge carriers, and team members with respect. Follow the protocols and participation guidance provided for each teaching or gathering.
You must not harass, threaten, discriminate against, impersonate, exploit, or repeatedly disrupt others. Do not post unlawful material, spam, unsolicited promotions, or content that infringes another person’s rights.
Keep other participants’ personal stories and identifying details within the learning space in which they were shared. Do not disclose identifiable client information or another person’s private information. Discuss professional examples only in a way that complies with your confidentiality obligations and does not reasonably identify anyone.
We ask everyone to honour these commitments, but cannot guarantee another participant’s conduct. Share only what you feel comfortable sharing in the relevant group.
9. Recordings, photographs, and screenshots
We will notify you when a gathering is recorded, explain what will be captured and who may access it, and seek consent as required. Recordings may capture participant names, images, voices, or contributions, depending on the settings. Contact us before a recorded gathering if you have privacy concerns or need another way to participate.
You may not record, photograph, screenshot, transcribe, or distribute live gatherings, recordings, or other participants’ contributions without our express permission and any required permission from the people involved. This includes using automated meeting assistants or AI transcription tools.
We will obtain separate permission before using identifiable participant images, voices, personal stories, or testimonials in public promotional materials.
10. Teachings, cultural protocols, and intellectual property
Program materials—including videos, recordings, written resources, artwork, photographs, and program designs—are owned by maskihkiy or their respective creators or rights holders. Indigenous knowledge and teachings remain subject to the responsibilities and protocols of the Peoples, communities, families, and knowledge carriers from whom they come. Enrollment does not transfer ownership or cultural authority.
Your enrollment gives you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to access materials during your access period for your own learning. You may download resources expressly made available for download and keep personal learning notes, subject to any resource-specific restrictions.
You are welcome to apply your learning responsibly within your role and competence, while respecting cultural protocols. This does not permit you to reproduce our curriculum, deliver our training, or circulate our materials to colleagues or clients unless a resource expressly allows that use or we give written permission.
Do not sell, publish, redistribute, adapt for commercial use, or upload protected materials to external repositories or AI systems without written authorization from the appropriate rights holders. In particular, do not use teachings, recordings, or participant contributions to train AI models. Attribution alone does not replace permission.
11. Your contributions and feedback
You retain your rights in original content you contribute. You give us only the permission reasonably needed to host, display, and administer that content within the learning spaces where you share it, consistent with our Privacy Policy and the recording notices provided.
Share only material you have the right to share. We may moderate or remove contributions that breach these terms or compromise privacy or safety.
We may use general suggestions to improve our Services. Providing feedback does not give us ownership of your personal stories, cultural knowledge, or original works, or permission to use your name, organization’s logo, or testimonial in marketing.
12. Privacy, platforms, and acceptable technical use
Our collection, use, and disclosure of personal information are described in our Privacy Policy. We use Thinkific and other providers to support learning, payments, gatherings, and communications. Applicable provider terms may also govern your use of their tools.
Do not bypass access restrictions, attempt unauthorized access, upload malicious code, scrape restricted content, or interfere with the Services. Use designated secure checkout channels for payment details; do not post them in community spaces or messages.
External links are provided for convenience. We do not control third-party websites or their content, policies, or transactions. Our use of service providers does not remove responsibilities we have under applicable law.
13. Suspension or ending access
We may restrict access or remove content where reasonably necessary to address non-payment, a material breach of these terms, or a privacy, security, or safety concern. Where appropriate, we will explain the concern and offer an opportunity to resolve it. Serious or urgent concerns may require immediate action.
Any decision about ending paid access will take account of the circumstances, applicable law, and these terms. Contact [email protected] if you wish to ask for a review.
You may stop using the Services or request account closure at any time. Payment obligations, confidentiality commitments, intellectual property restrictions, and other provisions intended to continue remain applicable after access ends.
14. Warranties and liability
We aim to provide useful, thoughtfully prepared learning, but do not guarantee a particular personal, clinical, professional, financial, or organizational outcome. We do not promise that online access will always be uninterrupted or error-free.
To the extent permitted by law, we exclude implied warranties not otherwise required by law and liability for indirect or consequential losses arising from use of the Services, including lost profits or business opportunities.
These limitations do not exclude liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including liability for fraud or wilful misconduct, or limit mandatory consumer rights. They do not excuse us from providing paid Services as agreed or from our applicable privacy obligations.
15. Responsibility for unlawful contributions
To the extent permitted by law, you are responsible for reasonable, proven losses arising from third-party claims directly caused by your unlawful contributions or intentional infringement of another person’s rights through the Services. This does not require you to cover losses caused by our own negligence or misconduct. We will notify you of such a claim and give you a reasonable opportunity to respond.
16. Governing law and resolving concerns
These terms are governed by the laws of Alberta and the applicable federal laws of Canada, subject to any mandatory protections that apply where you live.
Please contact us first so we can try to resolve a concern respectfully. This does not prevent you from contacting a regulator or exercising a legal remedy. Subject to applicable law, disputes may be brought before the courts of Alberta; nothing requires you to waive a right to bring a claim elsewhere where the law permits it.
17. Changes and general provisions
We may update these terms and will post the revised version and date on this page. We will give reasonable notice of material changes affecting enrolled participants. Changes will not retrospectively reduce paid access, increase an agreed price, or remove accrued rights without your agreement or another lawful basis.
These terms, the Privacy Policy, and the program-specific terms accepted at enrollment form the agreement concerning the Services. If a provision is unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue to apply. A delay in enforcing a provision does not waive it.
